Privacy Policy

We collect only what we need to run FieldTruth and produce your results:

• Account information — your email address and account tier. Passwords are hashed and managed by our authentication provider; we never see or store your actual password.
• Field and trial data — field boundaries, locations, trial designs, treatment and control zones, and the products you enter.
• Yield and agronomic data — yield maps and yield values you upload or enter, planted varieties, seeding rates, and field history.
• Derived data — results computed by our True Return and True Variety Return engines, along with the weather and satellite imagery data used to produce them.
• Feedback you send us — messages, survey responses, and support requests you choose to submit.

We do not collect farm data from any source you have not connected or uploaded yourself.

If you connect your John Deere Operations Center account, you authorize FieldTruth to read specific data — such as field boundaries, planting records, and yield data — to build your analysis. We want to be explicit about how we handle it:

• Read only. We never write to, modify, or delete anything in your John Deere Operations Center account.
• Farmer authorized. We access it only after you connect your account and grant permission, and only for the operations you choose. You can disconnect at any time, which revokes our access.
• Not stored long term. John Deere data is used to produce your analysis and is not retained beyond what is needed for that analysis. Once processed into your results, we do not keep a long-term copy of the raw John Deere records.
• Never resold or shared. Your John Deere data is never sold, shared with third parties, or contributed to benchmarks in any identifiable form.

One of FieldTruth's core features is showing how products perform across many real farmer trials. To make that possible, individual trial results can contribute to aggregated, anonymized benchmarks.

• Benchmarks are aggregated across many farms — a product only appears once enough independent trials exist.
• Contributed results are stripped of anything identifying you — no names, no field boundaries, no location more precise than state.
• Other users see only the aggregate — for example, an average corrected yield response for a product in your state. They never see your individual fields, trials, or identity.

You control whether your anonymized results contribute to benchmarks. This is governed by a data-sharing preference on your account.

• You can turn benchmark contribution on or off at any time from your account settings.
• When sharing is off, your trial results are used only for your own analysis and are excluded from all aggregated benchmark data.
• Turning sharing off does not affect your own access to your data or your own results.

We do not sell your personal data or your farm data. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing, advertising, or resale. We are not in the business of selling farm data — we are in the business of helping you make sense of your own.

We use trusted service providers to operate FieldTruth (for example, our database, hosting, email, weather, and satellite imagery providers). These providers process data only to provide their service to us, under their own confidentiality obligations, and never receive your data to use for their own purposes.

Your data is stored in access-controlled databases with row-level security, so you can only see your own records. Connections are encrypted in transit. We limit internal access to what is needed to operate and support the service.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your fields, trials, and results are removed. Anonymized benchmark contributions that have already been aggregated cannot be individually withdrawn, since they no longer contain anything identifying you.

You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and associated data. To make any data request, email:

We will respond to data requests as promptly as we reasonably can. If you disconnect a connected account (such as John Deere Operations Center), our access to that source is revoked immediately.

FieldTruth is intended for use by adults operating agricultural businesses. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

As FieldTruth grows, we may update this policy. When we make a meaningful change, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of FieldTruth after an update means you accept the revised policy.
